In 2020, I started my first business after a derecho tore through my home town of Marshalltown, Iowa. I saw a unique opportunity to help my community after this terrible storm, by grinding the tree stumps after tree removal crews had cleaned up the trees. In addition to grinding tree stumps I began doing other landscaping jobs with my dad (pictured using the stump grinder).

That same year, I used skills I acquired growing up and from jobs that I had worked to do a full home remodel. The house was completely gutted; all new plumbing, electrical, cabinets, engineered hardwood flooring, doors and trim. Due To the derecho in town, the house also got new siding, gutters, a new garage and new driveway.

In 2021, I helped a long time friend move to Craig, Colorado to start his business. In that, I earned a Class B builders license with the city and remodeled the shop for his business. In that we built a completely new structure including a kitchen, bathroom with added shower, a conference room, an upstairs office with air conditioning and deck styled storage area. Also added in this building were new lighting and added circuits in conduit. During my time in Colorado I learned to ski and spent many weekends on the slopes in Steamboat Springs.

After the work in Colorado had been completed I moved back to Iowa, where I continued to do landscaping and small construction and repair jobs for people in my community. I also did another home remodel, were we had to refinish the sheetrock, took out built in shelving in multiple rooms. New engineered hardwood, vinyl and carpet was installed, new cabinets and countertops, doors, trim were also installed. All new lighting throughout the house made the house look much more up to date as well.

In January 2023 I decided to start another business in addition to Hass Enterprises, LLC. This business is Hass Manufacturing, LLC. I bought a 4×8 CNC router table and began learning to program and cut polycarbonate for Side by Sides (UTV’s) In addition to SXS parts I also have the ability to make highly custom wood products; including cutting boards, dining furniture and signs of all types.
